A post World War II suburb, Crestwood is primarily made up of single-family homes built in the 60s. Crestwood’s municipal government prides itself on low taxes, good city services, and a great school system. The fact that it is a stable, safe neighborhood is also a big draw for families.

Crestwood is the final resting place of Sgt. John Sappington, a Revolutionary War soldier who served as George Washington’s personal bodyguard at the battle of Valley Forge. Sappington eventually settled in what is now Crestwood, fathering 18 children and establishing the family in the area. Today, the Sappington House stands as a museum of Americana open to the public.

The neighborhood is located near major interstates 270 and 44 for easy access into the city, and only a 30-minute drive from Lambert International Airport.

Crestwood is always evolving and is a place for residents to grow together. The neighborhood has attracted a new crowd with its ArtSpace program, which offers collaborative spaces for artists.

Residents can always get a breath of fresh air at the neighborhood’s local parks. Grant’s Farm and Trail are also nearby for family fun.

Most Crestwood residents are served by the Lindbergh School District; a smaller population served by Affton and Webster Groves school districts. The neighborhood also contains a number of private and religious schooling options.

Crestwood Park | As the neighborhood’s second largest park at 21 acres, it features a walking trail, playground, athletic fields, and tennis courts.

Whitecliff Park | One of St. Louis’ largest municipal parks at 85 rolling acres. The City of Crestwood intends to preserve the integrity of the passive areas, so the park will remain in its natural state and allow visitors to enjoy wooded hiking trails and take in its scenic beauty.

Crestwood Community Center | The Community Center contains an aquatic center, tennis courts, a sand volleyball court, playground, and a lighted athletic field.
